Nintendo Announces Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Remakes

Pokémon Diamond Pearl Remakes

Coinciding with the announcement of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Nintendo announced remakes to Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Both which will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl

Initially released in 2006 for Nintendo DS, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl’s remakes will feature a similar aesthetic to that of Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go: Eevee. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes from the ground up. Similar to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl take place in a Sinnoh region. Albeit in a more recent time. Your goal is to become the Pokémon League Champion of that region.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will introduce or reintroduce for that matter 107 creatures making up the fourth generation of Pokémon. It will also reintroduce the classic starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup! Each with its own evolutionary paths. Brilliant Diamond and Pearl also include the legendary Pokémon Steel/Water, Legendary Pokémon Dialga,Water/Dragon, and Legendary Pokémon Palkia.

We’re curious to see how Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s stories will link to Arceus, or if the experiences will be completely separate. They do take place in the same region, albeit during different periods. We’re also curious to see if we will see a Platinum version of the game, similar to the release that followed the original two games.

Are you excited about these remakes? Which Pokémon game in the series would you like to see remade in the future?
